Well, it's my first blog post. I'm trying to remember all of the lessons my 6th grade English teacher taught me, but blogging is different than "regular" writing.
Educated, yes (at least one should try), but format and information is different than my 5-page essay on Romeo and Juliet.
Oh and you're supposed to make sentences shorter. Who wants to read a full paragraph anymore?!
I'm not 100% sure what to write about in this first post, but the other night I was laying in bed trying to think about how this would come together and thought, "I have an opinion and know how to use it." So I guess I'll start there. Because I have no delusions of grandeur regarding who will read this, I want to write for myself. I am, like most people, on social media much more than is healthy or helpful. But in the constant barrage of posts, I have identified what really... well... drives me freaking nuts.
I have no aspirations with this blog. I didn’t start it to make money. I have no desire to “influence” anyone. But since I’ve noticed the sheer volume of blogs and worthless “top ten,” life hacks and grammatically challenged rants, I thought, “hey! I could do that too!”
FUN FACT: THE WORKING TITLE FOR THIS WEBSITE WAS "NOT ANOTHER FREAKING BLOG"
Joking aside, I hope to use this website to showcase my growth charts, highlight my contract nursing and write a little ditty here and there.
Above all else, I don’t want to be ironic. I want to be authentic. Let's do this thing
Growing daily,
Jenna
